Prologue
Gold Coast. Village Nufar. A small peasant residence. A pillage from the northern Barbarians every once in awhile. Half the people inbred. Your normal village.
Or so the kingdom of Gurvine thought. For years they tracked down followers of the despised god of despair, Necrinom. To King Gurvine the 5th’s best knowledge, every necromancer and sorcerer had been tracked down and beheaded. Their ashes spread over a lake, like kings before him had done to other mages.
But what did he know? Only what his troops had informed him. And a king couldn’t fully inspect every village in the kingdom. There where at least two to three hundred villages in that eight hundred mile radius known as the Gurvine Kingdom.
That’s where his folly and weak point lay. But he wouldn’t be affected by it. He wouldn’t even know about it until he lay sprawled on his deathbed ten years later.
This excerpt is from the captain’s journal:
" and we were travlin a long way. Damn trips are always long. I remember it like it twas burned into my memory. Who wouldn’t? So anyways, we pull into this village and ask the peasants for room and board. They’re like all peasants, so they let us stay at the inn.
In the middle of the night, I haf ta go to the pot. I get outside and open the outhouse, only to find a ladder leading down the hole. I go and wake my men up, we get dressed, and return. I have my scouts go down, then I follow. The sewage is just an illusion, so we drop down and land in a chamber.
There’s a big cavern. At the far end is this man on a throne. These peasants are all around him, bowing like he was a god. Probably was. Then I notice the peasants are dead. Theyse like some zombies or sumptin.
‘Greetings, doomed soldiers.’ He says. I notice he’s got a big robe on, with mage markings all over it. I can’t see his face, and I notice markings all over the floor.
My soldiers rush towards them, but me and my guards hesitate. Then I realize the markings on the floor are pentagrams. Me and my guards were in one, and so was the stranger. But my soldiers weren’t.
I yelled to them but noticed the Mage had been muttering sompthin the whole while.
Then it happened. My soldiers float in the air. They wiggled and screamed, unable to escape unseen shackles. But it all just made the mage laugh.
The ground opened up, and these skeletons come up. A skeleton grabs Eric, my best soldier. Then the most grotesque thing I’ve ever seen happened. The skin crawled off Eric and onto the skeleton, like a living thing. Then the skeleton (now a young beautiful woman) joined the group praying to the stranger.
Each skeleton does this to a soldier, till they’re all dead. Then the soldier skeletons drop into the ground, and it must’ve been a long hole, cause I didn’t hear them hit bottom.
‘I like your courage, the world can use good men like you.’ the mage said, turning his head to face me. Two red dots (I suspect as eyes) glowed in fury.
‘If you inform your king of me, verbal, written, or messenger, your king will die. I have cursed you and your men. If the king is dying, and you decide to tell him, you will be pleased to learn that the curse will detect your thoughts and make him die. Therein you’ll still cause his death.’ the mage said.
The next we were out cold. We wake up in the swamp near our castle. We find our way back and make an excuse up."
Another excerpt, 10 years later:
"The guy was right, ten years later I forget about the curse. The kings on his deathbed and I show him the journal. He reads it, then coughs up some blood and falls over dead.
Then I become king. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing."
The mage was Rilo the Flesh Cleanser. Mage’s go in 6 levels. One through six for wizard, then magician, then sorcerer, then conjurer, then elementalist, then archmage, then necromancer. Rilo was a forth level necromancer during the incident.
After the king died, no heir to the throne was found. So the committee decided on the captain (who had become general by then ) to be the next king. The general tried to track down the necromancer, but a inspired young sorcerer (who was Rilo’s son) relayed a message to the general.
The curse was just a mind game. The mage had been bluffing.
Rilo’s son also said the great Necromancer had left.
Rilo left his son an easy self help book, which Rilo created so Mages can train themselves and be as good as if professionally taught. Rilo’s son, Fren, hopes to make more books and put them in circulation.
That was the real reason Rilo left. In the new world, he wouldn’t be hunted for his practices.
The book was enchanted. It contained a four dimensional pentagram. Kind of a translucent ball. Inside the ball was a demon. The ball made sure he couldn’t escape. But Fren lets him out all the time.
That’s because he’s a friendly demon. The demon owed Rilo for a lot of help the Necromancer had done. The demon was told by Rilo to protect Fren, and he does the most he can. He also teaches Fren magic.

Chapter 10
Morality
A question aroused by most magic users is about the evolutionary question which has continued through out history and is never exactly been answered-
What is right, and what is wrong?
When using magic, we are using and controlling powers that can effect, modify, or even reshape man’s destiny and reality.
But we set aside from creating worlds to ask ourselves what’s right and what’s wrong. Is there really a hell? Will I burn in it for torturing people?
We’ve come up with many beliefs. Gods are not real. Gods are real They control us.
But the truth of it all is, we make religion. Did god make man, or did man make god?
If you finally answer these questions, you will have entered the next level after necromancer, which is also the final level.
The name of it is decided by you. All the mages who ever reached that level decided that if you are that powerful, you make the title. They decided on a universal name, Ultimage. I may reach this level, and will come back to teach you once more.
The last mage to reach Ultimage level was Necri, now Necrinom- god of dispair.
Rilo was tired with the kingdom, so he decided to take residence in another world.
Where, you ask?
Simple...
He mentioned something about a great canyon. Said it was really beautiful. Also said that the world had no mages. Great? Maybe Giant? Or was it Grand?
